Incoming E-mail Rules

You can specify several rules that will apply to Clean messages only before they reach your Inbox.

This will allow you to deliver certain messages to special folders or redirect them to other e-mail addresses.

Add a new rule

  1. Go to Inspedium Email
  2. Log in using your full e-mail address and current password.
  3. Click on the Delivery Rules icon
  4. Click on the New Rule button
  5. Enter a unique rule name ( without spaces in the name ) and click on Add Rule button
  6. Click on the Edit icon (pencil) next to the newly created rule

A rule consists of two main components, namely Conditions and Delivery rules, which are executed when a match is detected. It is possible to include multiple Conditions and Delivery rules within a single rule. Upon clicking the Edit rule icon, you will be presented with options to create Conditions and Delivery rules.

Within the Condition component, you can specify matching criteria based on various attributes such as From, To, CC, Subject, List-ID fields, or message size. To set up a Condition for a new rule, click on either of the two buttons: NEW ‘AND’ CONDITION or NEW ‘OR’ CONDITION, and define your criteria accordingly.

For instance, you may wish to check for a particular text in the email subject. This can be accomplished by defining a condition that includes the relevant text.

Match Field: Subject
Condition: Contains
Negate match: No
Term: test subject

Once you have defined your new condition, click on the Add Condition button to proceed. At this point, your rule will have a defined condition but will be lacking a Delivery rule, which is used to take specific actions such as delivering the message to a particular folder, forwarding it to another email address, or deleting it.

To select a Delivery rule, click on the Deliver to e-mail button and specify the desired email address to which messages with a subject line matching the condition should be forwarded. Then, click on the Deliver button to confirm your selection.

To add another rule, you can click on the Deliver to Folder button and select the original account’s Inbox as the destination folder. After configuring the rule, check its status at the top, which may currently show as DISABLED. Click on DISABLED to change the status to ENABLED, and then click on the Save Rule button to save your changes.

Remove a rule

  1. Go to Inspedium Email
  2. Log in using your full e-mail address and current password.
  3. Click on the Delivery Rules icon
  4. Click on the “-” icon (minus sign) next to the rule you want to remove
